A cropped white raglan top with camouflage sleeves

All the brand had for this top was a reference photo. It asked us to stay close to that photo.

A tech sheet from one photo

We told the brand the top could be made by cutting its white cotton jersey body separately from the camouflage sleeves. Raglan seams neatened on the inside join the two fabrics. Without a complete tech pack, we worked out the missing details from the photo. The original artwork had to be cleared for printing.

The brand asked for a relaxed fit. We set the body at 48 cm long and a straight 52 cm wide. Sleeves run 70 cm from the neck. An olive-green rib 2.5 cm wide trims the 20 cm neck opening. The unstitched hem frays like the one in the photo.

The fit was to be checked on one sample before bulk production. Development of that first sample costs $80 to $150. There is no extra charge for two rounds of changes.

Custom (Made to Order) work starts at 50 per color. The price before printing falls from $5.50–9.50 per top at 50 to 99 per color to $3.50–6.00 at 300 to 500. A quantity of 100 to 299 gets a quote in between.

Two screens between the raglan seams

To keep the lime dots from clustering on one side, we paired the sleeve panels before cutting. A raglan cut leaves a narrower white front. We sized the large graphic to fit inside it. The graphic's upper edge comes right up to the camouflage.

We had the black layer printed first. The green fill went over it in a second pass. The worn speckle of this vintage effect print is part of the artwork itself. Those two colors add $1.00 to $2.40 to the price of a top. We bill the two screens at $15 to $45 apiece on the first order of a design.

The finished top next to the reference

The finished top matches the photo. Its raglan seams run up to the same olive-green neck rib as in the photo. The graphic is printed in the same place on the chest. The raw hem frays into the distressed edge the brand asked for. Lime dots are spread over the two sleeves.
