Clothing production for DTC brands, from test batch to restock

Try a style in your store with 50 Ready-made (Stock Match) pieces before you pay to develop your own version. Every restock of that version is then cut from the pattern you approve on its first Custom (Made to Order) run.

A test batch before development

A test batch is 50 pieces of the Ready-made garment closest to your reference. It carries your label and reaches the US 11–18 days after you pay.

We turn its inspection photos into a free Launch Kit for your store: five plain-background Basic images, a Creative image with an AI-generated model wearing the piece and a ten-second vertical video closing on your logo. Your product page can go live on the Basic images before the stock arrives. They're ready two business days after inspection. The images and the video can run in paid ads with no model release and no usage fee.

If the style sells, you decide what to change in its fit, fabric, color or details, and we develop that version as a Custom style. The design and the pattern belong to your brand.

Fit and quality across runs

We cut every restock from the pattern and graded size chart you approved on the first run. A customer who buys their usual size again gets the same fit.

A streetwear label has all of its 5,000-plus pieces a season checked at the factory, from how the colors of each multicolor print line up to the number of stitches in an inch of seam. The checks have cut its returns by 71%.

  1. New fabric lot

We wash a piece of each new lot before cutting. If its shrinkage doesn't match your sample's fabric, we adjust the pattern first.

  2. Color

Shades can drift a little between dye lots. Each new lot is checked against your approved color before it's cut.

  3. Leftover dyed fabric

Fabric left over from a lot dyed for you stays at the factory for six months. A same-color restock in that time is cut from it if enough is left.

  4. Measurements

Every piece is measured against the graded size chart before packing, and we put right any that falls outside the limits.

  5. Payment

You pay 30% when you order and the other 70% when you've checked the inspection photos on your dashboard.

  6. After delivery

If pieces don't match your approved sample, you have 14 days from delivery to report them with photos or a clip. You get them remade with the freight on us, or your money back.

Restocks and landed cost

Each style's spec and size split are saved in your dashboard. You restock from there and can add more of the sizes that sold out first. A restock needs no sample and no second development fee. It reaches a US address 21–30 days after the deposit by air, or 5–7 days later if your fabric needs a new dye lot.

All of a DTC activewear brand's compression pieces come from one factory. We reserve their fabric before each reorder. The brand's reorders still cost what we quoted the first time, 9% below its former broker's price.

A Custom hoodie costs $12.50–22.50 a piece in a run of 50–99 and $8.00–14.00 in a run of 300–500. Runs of 100–299 are priced on your quote. Both prices cover inspection, your labels and branded packaging.

US duty

You pay US duty on every order. Duty on cotton T-shirts and hoodies from China is 36.5% of their dutiable value. We clear each order as importer of record. The duty is estimated on your quote and billed at cost when customs releases the goods.

Entry fees

The customs broker and bond come to $225–400 an entry and CBP's processing fee to at least $34.58. We charge both at cost.

Labels

We make the content and care labels to the rules of each country you sell in.

Express

Express takes 3–6 days to the US at $12–18 per kg under 21 kg and $8–12 per kg from 21 kg up. Any order under 45 kg ships this way.

Air freight

The air rate for 45 kg and over is $7–10 per kg up to 100 kg and $6–8 per kg beyond that. Delivery takes 6–10 days.

Billable weight

A bulky order such as hoodies or coats is often billed on its volume weight rather than what it weighs on the scale.

Outside the US

Express to the UK, the EU, Canada and Australia takes 4–7 days at $6–12 per kg.

FOB

With your own forwarder, we hand the goods over FOB at Yantian in Shenzhen or Nansha in Guangzhou and handle the export clearance.
