Flat tote
Common flat tote sizes are 12 × 14, 14 × 16 and 15 × 16 inches. The 15 × 16-inch size takes a front print up to 10 × 12 inches.

Tote bags run from 70 gsm non-woven handouts to 540 gsm canvas tool bags. We make all of them, including full-color laminated bags in runs as small as 50.

Duty is set by the outer fabric: a canvas tote with a polyester lining pays the cotton rate. We estimate the duty when we quote and charge the exact amount once the bags clear US customs.

A first wash shrinks preshrunk canvas by 3–5%. For totes that will go through the wash, pick preshrunk canvas and have the pattern cut that much larger.
Under the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), a tote labeled organic has at least 95% organic fiber. Totes with 70% or more can carry the "made with X% organic materials" label. A transaction certificate (TC) goes with every shipment of our GOTS-certified organic cotton totes. Brands that sell the bags to consumers as we pack and label them don't need GOTS certification themselves.
Jute grocery bags with a laminated lining are made from 300–400 gsm cloth. Juco blends 25–40% cotton into the jute. Bold one- and two-color logos print cleanly on the coarse weave of either cloth.
A full-color design on polypropylene comes as a printed film laminated over the outside of the bag. Laminated bags wipe clean with a damp cloth.
The standard PU coating on poly-canvas makes the bag water-resistant. Denier, the D in 600D and 210D, measures how heavy the yarn is.
A recycled PET bag needs at least 50% recycled content to carry the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) logo. Our GRS-certified recycled PET bags come with a TC for the order.

Our express rate is $12–18 per kg for shipments under 21 kg. Heavier express shipments cost $8–12 per kg. Air freight is $6–10 per kg once a shipment reaches 45 kg. Couriers and airlines charge for whichever is greater, a carton's actual weight or its volumetric weight. Volumetric weight is 200 kg per cubic meter of cartons for express and about 167 kg for air.

Common flat tote sizes are 12 × 14, 14 × 16 and 15 × 16 inches. The 15 × 16-inch size takes a front print up to 10 × 12 inches.

In 16 × 16 × 4, 18 × 16 × 4 and 19 × 16 × 5-inch shoppers, the last figure is the depth of the gusset sewn into the base and sides.

A 15 × 16-inch tote with 20.5-inch handles has a 9.5-inch drop between the handle tops and the opening and sits on the shoulder. Larger totes use drops of 10–14 inches.

Mesh beach totes let sand fall straight through.

Two cords close the bag and double as its shoulder straps.

Foam between a polyester shell and a lining of PEVA plastic or aluminum foil keeps food and drinks cold. US duty on insulated cooler totes is 44.5%. Cartons of foam cooler totes are billed by volumetric weight.

We can express one Ready-made bag to you ahead of the order for the bag's price plus a $15–60 courier fee. We then credit the bag's price to the order.
Send a picture of a similar bag and your logo, and we'll price it within 24 hours. We can quote one design in canvas and in non-woven side by side. If you add quantities per color and the date the bags have to arrive, we can tell you whether Custom makes the date or the bags should be Ready-made.
