Skirt manufacturer for fashion, sport and school skirts

Boutiques and DTC brands start with 50 skirts of a style, in any length from mini to maxi and sizes 00 to 30W. Pick a skirt that Chinese factories already sew and add your label, or send us your own design. School uniform suppliers buy kilts and pleated skirts from us in girls' sizes 2 to 20.

Skirt shapes

A skirt's shape sets its fabric use and most of its sewing time. Fabric figures are for size M, from published sewing patterns cut on fabric 148–152 cm wide.

Custom orders of up to 500 skirts a color come from fabric we buy by the roll at Guangzhou's Zhongda market or in Keqiao, Shaoxing. Mills dye faux leather to order from 500 m a color and weave a school check to your own design from 3,000 m.

Folds of orange brushed twill.

You pay the regular fabric price for a color the market stocks. Any other shade needs a small dye lot, at $80–150 for one color. We hold the leftover fabric six months for a same-color reorder.

Digital printers put your own artwork on polyester or viscose for $1–4 a meter, cloth included. On polyester chiffon they print any design from 1 m.

Denim skirts

Our denim washes run from a dark rinse through stone and enzyme to bleach. The Custom price covers the wash you pick. At 50–99 skirts a color, a heavily faded skirt costs near $16.00, the most we charge at that quantity.

Bulk skirts match the length and shade of your washed sample.

Zips and rivets for a 50-skirt order come from stock. Put your logo on shank buttons at $0.02–0.15 each, from 100–500 pieces, or on a PU or jacron patch at $1 or less, from 50–500 pieces. For fitted pencil skirts and front-split midis, we cut stretch denim with 1–3% spandex.

Our tennis skirts come in polyester sport knit with 8–20% spandex. You choose between shorts sewn inside, with a ball pocket on one leg, and an open skirt worn over separate ball shorts.

Tennis brands cut size S 33–35 cm long and add 0.7–1.3 cm a size. Your skirts follow the same steps unless your chart gives other lengths.

US Customs classes a skort as a skirt when, seen from the front, a skirt panel covers the split between the legs. A polyester knit skort from China then pays 36% duty. Classed as shorts, it would pay 48.2%.

Pleats

You pay under $0.30 a meter of fabric for simple machine-set accordion pleats in polyester chiffon. Pleated skirts in size M take 1.7 m of fabric 150 cm wide at 71 cm long and 2.2–2.3 m at 97 cm.

Sunray pleats need a pleating mold cut to the skirt panel. Making a new mold takes up to 15 days. Reorders of the style use the same one.

For pleats that stay sharp through machine washing, choose fabric with at least 65% polyester or nylon. On cotton and viscose skirts, we stitch the pleats down over the hips. Your customers will need to press them after each wash. We stitch school kilts the same way.

The care label we sew into polyester pleated skirts reads 30°C and line dry.

Linings and closures

Linings

We fully line skirts you can see through and pencil skirts in suiting. Polyester lining sells for $0.30–1.10 a meter in China. Gathered and tiered midis in size M take 1.7–1.8 m of it on top of the shell fabric.

Waistbands and zips

Invisible zips 20 cm long cost $0.02–0.15 each. They go in the side seam of A-line skirts and down the center back of pencil skirts. Fitted waists close with a trouser hook above the zip, on a straight waistband or a facing.

Add elastic across the back of the waistband and one size of your skirt covers a wider spread of waists. Knit skirts pull on over full elastic or a fold-over band and need no zip.

Girls' and school sizes

US uniform makers size girls' skirts 2 to 20 and add slim and plus fits. Sizes 4–6 pull on over an elastic back waistband.

UK ranges size by age, from 2–3 to 17–18. Senior girls buy by waist and length, in lengths of 46–66 cm. Buttonhole elastic inside the back waistband lets a parent adjust the waist as the child grows.

Launch Kit

From our inspection photos of a style, we make five plain-background product images and a vertical 10-second clip with your logo as its last frame.

The kit is free and includes one image of the skirt on an AI model, in the body type and skin tone you pick. On an Amazon or Shopify listing, that image shows shoppers how long the skirt falls on a body.

Extra model images cost $9 apiece and are ready within 3 business days.

US Customs classes a blend by its heaviest fiber. A polyester skirt with 5% spandex counts as polyester.

US Customs classes faux-leather skirts by their coating and backing. It has ruled PU-coated knit skirts into heading 6113 at 3.8% base duty and foamed-PU skirts on a knit backing into 3926.20 at 5%. Section 301 duties add to both rates. We confirm the heading from your sample and put the full rate on your quote.
